The Canadian Grain Commission's Grains Week 1 Grain Statistics Weekly, released Friday afternoon and covering up to the week ending Aug. 10 indicates an improvement over last year's data.

As indicated on the attached chart, producer deliveries totaled 1.036 million metric tonnes, up 129% from the 452,300 mt delivered into the system during the same period one year ago. The largest response in terms of volume is seen with wheat, where the year/year increase for the week is almost 300,000 mt, while the largest increase in deliveries seen on a percentage basis is in canola, where producers delivered 2.6 times ...
