OMAHA (DTN) -- The following are highlights from the weekly crop progress report for conditions until August 19 from Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development:

Harvest operations are beginning across the province. While swathing of most crops is underway in all regions, combining is just starting in some areas, particularly for canola. Approximately, 5.1% of spring wheat, barley, oats, canola and dry peas in the province have been swathed and just under 1% has been combined.
