BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (DTN) -- Farmers looking for value-added income from their agriculture operations might want to think about outdoor recreation.

Louisiana State University AgCenter, in conjunction with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, recently hosted a seminar in Zwolle, La., for such landowners.

The workshop focused on options landowners have when looking to create a new revenue stream in the form of outdoor recreation. These options include fee hunting or fishing, you-pick operations, wildlife viewing, farm tours, horseback riding, nature trails and the list goes on. Attendees also learned about logistical, legal and liability issues that could arise.
