OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) -- The National Propane Gas Association on Thursday, Feb. 6, requested that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission "exercise its emergency powers" to direct Enterprise TE Products Pipeline Company LLC "to temporarily provide priority treatment to propane shipments form Mont Belvieu, Texas, to locations in the Midwest and Northeast" amid tight supplies.

Unique weather and other circumstances beyond the control of shippers have caused propane supplies throughout the country to reach dangerously low levels, particularly the Midwest and Northeast, NGPA said.
