STREATOR, Ill. (DTN) -- Several state attorneys general have launched probes or said they are monitoring prices and investigating causes for the dramatic spike in the retail price of propane.
Investigations were launched last week in Michigan, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas. This week, Nebraska's attorney general added his state to the growing list.
Retail prices for propane have skyrocketed to $5 and $6 per gallon in some states, spiking more than $3 a gallon since the start of 2014.
