Judge Approves MF Settlement

NEW YORK (Dow Jones) -- MF Global Holdings Ltd.'s (MFGLQ) bankruptcy judge on Thursday approved a key settlement among the failed brokerage's three key constituents, opening up the possibility that the remaining money owed to customers could start flowing very soon.

Judge Martin Glenn of U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan asked a lawyer for trustee James W. Giddens about the mechanics of a three-way deal between Mr. Giddens and Louis J. Freeh, the trustee in charge of MF Global's holding company, along with MF Global's U.K. unit. The judge was happy with what he heard.
