Scattered showers and rain occurred Friday through northwest and west-central areas of the plains and through central and southeast areas of the Midwest. Dry or with only a few light showers elsewhere in the northern U.S. and Canada. Hot and dry through the southern U.S. areas, very hot in some sections. Temperatures ranged from the 60s in the western Canadian Prairies to the low 100s over the central Plains, the Delta and the southeast.
