Light to moderate rain was noted in the Northern Plains and portions of the western Midwest Tuesday afternoon. Rain was also featured in the drought areas of the Far West, as well as in the western Canadian Prairies. Dry conditions prevailed elsewhere. Temperatures ranged from the mid 60s in southwestern Saskatchewan to the mid 90s in southern Texas and the Deep South.

Rainfall in the Northern Plains will expand south and east to take in much of the western Midwest and portions of the central Plains Wednesday. We'll also see a few showers in the eastern Midwest. The next week ...
