Showers and thunderstorms are in store for the Northern and central Plains, western Midwest, Canadian Prairies, and the Delta Friday. The rain will maintain ample soil moisture, but will cause more concern in very wet northern crop areas along with hindering wheat harvest. Other areas will have generally favorable conditions, notably in the central and eastern Midwest. Hot conditions will be notable in western Texas, with seasonally warm values elsewhere.

Highs: 70s Prairies, northwestern Plains, northern Midwest; 80s elsewhere except 90s southwestern Plains, Texas Panhandle and western Texas.
