OMAHA (DTN) -- Short-term Midwest heat, and a weekend hot spell for the North China Plain, are the primary weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.

VARIABLE MIDWEST TEMPERATURES

The DTN ag weather forecast calls for Midwest temperatures to remain fairly low through the weekend. Somewhat hotter weather will move into the region during the early and middle part of next week. This will mostly favor developing crops, as it does not appear hot enough to affect reproductive crops. Soil moisture and at least some showers will maintain favorable conditions for corn and soybeans.
