GENERAL COMMENTS:

Sharp gains continue to push lean hog futures higher with April contracts trading at or near daily trading limits through late morning. Cattle futures have slipped lower in all but front-month live cattle contracts as traders start taking positions due to the light trade. Corn futures are lower at midday. March corn futures are 3 cents per bushel lower. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 26 points higher while Nasdaq is up 15 points.
