DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Sharp pressure in nearby lean hog futures has influenced the remainder of livestock futures contracts at midday. February lean hog futures are holding $1.17 per cwt losses, with buyers remaining content on the sidelines for now. Live cattle futures are holding 20 to 35 cent losses. Corn futures are lower at midday. March corn futures are 1 cent per bushel lower. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 112 points higher while Nasdaq is up 36 points.
