GENERAL COMMENTS:

Strong gains are seen across lean hog futures markets as noncommercial-led buying is quickly jumping into the market. The expectation that strong gains in cattle markets will help to support the hog complex is keeping traders interested. Live cattle futures are holding strong nearby gains, but deferred futures remain under pressure. Corn futures are lower at midday. December corn futures are holding 4 cent losses. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 77 points higher while Nasdaq is up 20 points.
