GENERAL COMMENTS:

Pressure quickly developed in lean hog futures markets once again Friday. Nearby contracts are holding triple-digit losses with concerns surrounding cash market support and long-term demand. Light gains are seen in live cattle futures with the focus being placed on the afternoon cattle on feed report. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 7 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 70 points lower while Nasdaq is down 2 points.
