GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cattle futures are holding light support in live cattle contracts. Strong gains have developed in feeder cattle as buyers focus on the softness in corn prices. Lean hog futures remain under pressure once again as initial buyer interest has quickly faded. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 2 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are mixed in light trade. The Dow Jones is 96 points higher while Nasdaq is down 6 points.
