GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed in a wide range Friday morning. Cattle futures are holding moderate to strong gains with live cattle support developing from the lack of support in the grain markets and aggressive nature of feeder cattle contracts through morning trade. Lean hog futures are sharply lower with the lower feed prices expected to increase overall pork production long term. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 2 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 88 points lower while Nasdaq is down 5 points.
