DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures remain mixed at midday. Aggressive price support has redeveloped in feeder cattle futures, which is helping to firm live cattle futures at midday. Lean hog futures remain lower with moderate pressure seen in both nearby and deferred contracts based on demand concerns. Corn futures are mixed at midday. September corn futures are holding 2-cent gains at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 27 points lower while Nasdaq is down 28 points.
