GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed following strong gains in the corn and soybean markets. Moderate gains in the lean hog futures markets are being offset by pressure in the live cattle and feeder cattle market. Feeder cattle futures are showing the most price softness, as traders back away from sharp gains on Monday. Corn futures are higher at midday. September corn futures are holding 7 cent higher at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 42 points lower while Nasdaq is down 13 points.
