GENERAL COMMENTS:

Active gains quickly developed through the entire livestock complex Thursday morning. The early pressure in the market quickly ran out of gas, allowing for buyer interest to flood the market and move prices sharply higher. Corn futures are trading lower at midday in light trade. May corn futures are holding 1-cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 43 points lower while Nasdaq is down 17 points.
