GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed at midday with early pressure in the cattle futures evaporating as buyer activity started to develop in the feeder cattle market and quickly spread to live cattle futures. Lean hog futures remain under pressure as the bearish fundamental picture is too much for traders to aggressively step back into the market. Corn futures are trading higher at midday in light trade. March corn futures are holding 2 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 9 points lower while Nasdaq is down 2 points.
