This past summer marked the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. This was unquestionably the turning point in the U.S. Civil War, with its most famous event being Pickett's Charge. Three divisions of Confederate soldiers, thirteen thousand men, marched out of the woods on Seminary Ridge to cross a mile of wheat fields in an attempt to take the Union's heavily fortified position on the high ground of Cemetery Ridge.
