My childhood memories of Newsom family get-togethers include rousing games of pitch that would conclude most evenings. These were go-for-blood affairs, usually consisting of one table of 10-point "Call for Your Partner" and a smaller table of four playing the appropriately named "Cutthroat" 5-point version.
