General Comments

The U.S. stock markets are sharply lower with the Dow futures down 115 points. The interest rate products are lower. The dollar index is 30 lower. Energies are lower with crude down $0.95. Livestock trade is lower. Precious metals are lower with gold up $16.

CORN

Corn trade is narrowly mixed at midday, with weak outside markets after the monthly jobs report. A short-term wet and cool pattern looks to start over the weekend, triggering a slower fieldwork pace. Ethanol margins have pushed to two-year highs, and are showing further strength even with other energy prices backing off. ...
