OMAHA (DTN) -- As we near the close, December corn is down 4 cents, November soybeans are down 17 1/4 cents, and December Chicago wheat is down 2 1/2 cents. There has not been much change in grain prices since the 8:30 bell. All three grains are lower with soybeans showing the biggest loss. Day one of the government shutdown shows the U.S. dollar slightly lower, but most commodities also trading lower. December Minneapolis wheat is one exception, trading a nickel higher with the spring wheat harvest nearly complete.
