OMAHA (DTN) -- Corn and soybean growers in 31 states who hold revenue-based crop insurance policies now know what harvest price they can compare to the spring-projected prices guaranteed by those policies.

An average of the futures closes during the month of October for the December corn contract and the November soybean contract becomes the harvest price. This year the corn harvest price is $4.39 and the soybean harvest price is $12.87. That compares to the spring-projected prices of $5.65 for corn and $12.87 for soybeans.

States with earlier harvests already had their harvest prices set.
