Divining Exports, the Old Way

OMAHA (DTN) -- Rumor has it China may have purchased more than 1 million metric tons of corn, a sizeable amount of soybeans and some soft red winter wheat this week from the U.S.

With the government shutdown stretching past 10 days, the market's turned to social media websites, gossip and newsletters to guesstimate the pace of export agreements since USDA's export sales reporting system went dark.
