DTN Weekly Distillers Grains Update

With continuing winter storms in many areas of the U.S. and more snow and ice-covered roads, problems with delivery of railcars are causing prices of dried distillers grains to continue their upward trend.

Ethanol plants are reporting trouble getting enough railcars delivered on time for shipping and have slowed production. Lowered ethanol production is resulting in less DDG production, which is causing some shortages and propelling prices upward.
