Nearly 150 days of parasite control is the promise of a new extended-release eprinomectin from Merial. The product, named Longrange, is promoted as a way of protecting cows throughout an entire grazing season, while also preventing pasture contamination.

This product must be prescribed by a veterinarian and will be available starting in January. Longrange works in two stages. At the time of injection the concentration of the active ingredient in the animal's blood peaks, staying in the body for some 70 days. Around that 70-day mark, a second dose is released, which stays in the blood for another 70 days. ...
