Canadians Resigned to COOL

EDMONTON, Canada (DTN) -- Canadian cattle feeder Kevin Serfas has seen some of the complications of the U.S. country-of-origin-labeling law for meat affect his ability to sell cattle into the states. The labeling law has complicated the North American cattle market and made it harder to find buyers south of the Canadian border.

"There's no difference," Serfas said. "It's an imaginary line. We're feeding the same cattle. It's frustrating because these trade barriers are thrown up for no reason."
