Moderate to sharp losses are quickly developing in lean hog futures during overnight trade. The main focus of the pressure is in deferred contracts where traders are widening the price spread between nearby and deferred futures and putting significant pressure on October through February 2015 contract prices. Feeder cattle futures are showing some increased market weakness, given the bounce higher in corn markets early. This could start to erode the bullish tone seen across the entire cattle market over the last several trading sessions. Corn futures are trading higher in early electronic trade.
