GENERAL COMMENTS:

Packer activity in cattle country was typically limited to the distribution of new showlists. The fed offering looks smaller in Texas, Nebraska and Colorado, but larger in Kansas. A few asking prices were suggested around $157-$158 in the South and $248-$250 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is 1.81 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($94.00-$102.50, weighted average $101.85).
