GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cattle feeding country remained dead quiet with even token bids tough to find. Asking prices were firm at $152-$153 in the South and $242-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $0.40 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($120.50-$129.00, weighted average $126.08). Corn futures settled as much as 2 cents lower, generally pressure by positive growing conditions and a general lack of buying interest.
