The cash cattle trade was limited to the distribution of new showlists. The offering appears to be mixed with Kansas showing fewer cattle while Colorado, Nebraska and Texas have more steers and heifers for sale. Overall, fed supplies seem somewhat larger than last week. Some asking prices were indicated around $147 in the South and $235-$236 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $3.39 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($107.00-$115.01, weighted average $113.50).
