Land Markets Need a Time Out

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (DTN) -- The glory days of a farmland real estate market may not yet be over, but buyers should be growing increasingly cautious, Purdue University economists warned at a farmland seminar here this week. What's more, operators tempted to set land records for the farm next door shouldn't delude themselves by assuming their average land costs will cover up an over-priced purchase.
