OMAHA (DTN) -- Two long-sparring seed giants appear to have sent their legal teams back to neutral corners, which should pave the way for an expanded list of genetically engineered seeds in future seasons.

According to a joint statement released by Monsanto and DuPont, the companies have signed agreements that allow DuPont Pioneer to offer soybeans with the Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait as early as 2014, and soybeans with the combination of that newest Roundup Ready trait and the trait for dicamba tolerance as early as 2015, pending regulatory approvals.
