West Firefighters Warned

OMAHA (DTN) -- A Texas Fire Marshal report released late May 15 about last year's fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, has concluded rural firefighters were doing what they were trained to do, but were not trained to handle a fire of the magnitude that led to the ignition of ammonium nitrate.

Ahead of the report being made public, state officials met with families of the 15 firefighters and other emergency personnel who perished.
