Informa Pegs HRW Wheat at 840 MB

OMAHA (DTN) -- Private analytical firm Informa Economics estimates that the U.S. hard red winter wheat crop will be 96 million bushels larger than last year at 840 mb.

Informa expects a 36.4 bushel per acre average yield, according to its May crop report.

Overall winter wheat production is pegged at 1.496 million bushels, 38 mb lower than last year. Informa's projections include 8.6 million abandoned wheat acres, roughly 20% of total wheat acreage.

Informa forecast that soft red winter wheat production will fall below last year at 443 mb, down 122 mb.
