GENERAL COMMENTS:

Live cattle and feeder cattle strength has redeveloped Thursday morning with traders focusing still tight supplies. Feeder cattle futures continue to gain most of the attention with prices well above $2 per cwt across the complex. Lean hog futures are mixed with nearby gains being offset by sharp pressure in deferred futures. Corn futures are higher at midday. July corn futures are 3 cents per bushel higher. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 76 points lower while Nasdaq is down 18 points.
