DTN Midday Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock traders have shaken off most of the early pressure at midday with light gains holding in both cattle and lean hog contracts at midday. The focus of upcoming holiday and summer demand could spark additional interest in the market through the afternoon, and into midweek. Corn futures are higher at midday. May corn futures are 9 cents per bushel higher. Stock markets are mixed in light trade. The Dow Jones is 2 points lower while Nasdaq is up 3 points.
