GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed with strong gains developing across cattle contracts while lean hog futures are straddling unchanged in a narrow range. Trade volume is expected to remain sluggish through the remainder of the session. Corn futures are lower at midday. December corn futures are 4 cents lower. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 83 points higher while Nasdaq is up 24 points.
