GENERAL COMMENTS:

Volume is light in livestock futures Friday with most traders already in vacation mode. Cash cattle sales are starting to develop, which could keep activity stable through much of the afternoon. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 6 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 48 points lower while Nasdaq is down 27 points.
