GENERAL COMMENTS:

Moderate to strong gains in live cattle and lean hog futures is drawing buyers back into the complex. Trade volume remains light to moderate, but may firm additional activity during afternoon trade. Corn futures are mixed at midday. September corn futures are holding 1 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 68 points higher while Nasdaq is up 10 points.
