GENERAL COMMENTS:

Live cattle and lean hog futures remain mixed in a narrow range Tuesday morning. The light gains seen in nearby contracts based on commercial buyer support are more than offset by lack of buyer support in deferred futures. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 10 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 52 points higher while Nasdaq is up 32 points.
