Insurance Adds to Ag Economy

TREYNOR, Iowa, (DTN) -- Agricultural economist David Kohl has been living out of a suitcase for much of the month, making the rounds of agricultural meetings like Johnny Cash along the dusty Winnemucca road.

The professor emeritus from Virginia Tech University spoke Thursday in Treynor, Iowa, before a group of about 100 area farmers and area businesspeople at an annual agribusiness forum sponsored by Treynor State Bank. Kohl has bounced across Iowa, Minnesota, the Dakotas, Oregon, Nebraska and back again in recent weeks with a few stops elsewhere in between.
