Heat in the Shop

David Leinenweber often had to "make do" when it came to shop space. He and his dad, LeRoy, farm 1,500 acres of corn and soybeans outside St. James, Minn. Their first farm shop was in a small wooden machine shed built in the 1940s. In the '80s, they upgraded to an unheated Quonset building. But that's a pretty stout existence, doing maintenance in the upper Midwest in the dead of winter.
