Some growers just like growing corn. Compared to soybeans, corn creates a lot more bushels, is more responsive to management and appears to be more profitable. With the run-up in prices and insatiable demand, more growers have jumped to producing more continuous corn.

Lately, I've heard growers grumble that they are experiencing a significant yield penalty in some corn-on-corn fields. Those complaints grew considerably louder during the 2012 drought.
