OMAHA (DTN) -- As U.S. farmers work to make their farms more sustainable, the Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture announced Wednesday that it is adding a water quality calculator to its free online tool for producers.

Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, announced in a news release Wednesday that it now incorporates the water quality index offered by USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Services in its Fieldprint calculator.

The online calculator helps farmers track how their farming activities can affect water quality improvement, and gauge improvements on the farm.
