New Corn Record

OMAHA (DTN) -- Perennial yield contest ace David Hula has set a world corn production record of 454.9837 bushels in a measured acre with his entry in the 2013 National Corn Growers Association National Corn Yield Contest. Hula, from Charles City, Va., beat the previous record of 442 bushels per acre, set in 2002 by the late Francis Childs of Manchester, Iowa. Childs' record still stands as the top nonirrigated corn yield in NCGA contest history. Hula's entry was in the no-till/strip-till irrigated class.
