"We can't control price, but we can influence yield." That's Randy Dowdy's motto, and the Georgia farmer is proving to be a quick learner in the fine art of growing champion yields.

In 2012, Dowdy, of Brooks County, Ga., won the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) National Corn Yield Contest's Irrigated Division with a yield of 372.3357 bushels per acre.
