You might say Steven Albracht is a couple of decades ahead of his time. This Hart, Texas, farmer harvested more than 300 bushels per acre across all of his 600 acres of irrigated corn in fall 2012. His National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) yield contest plot produced about 335 bushels per acre, per his unofficial estimate in October, and the 220-acre field from which it was carved yielded 330 bushels per acre.
